Must know before using Google AdSense

Google Adsense is with no doubt the biggest advertising network online there is, and there are plenty of vital information an individual must know before before using Google AdSense.

As a publisher, you must know that Google AdSense is known for it’s decent payment to affiliates, and it’s used by site owners to maximize their revenue, but this is made up for with it’s strict approval and it’s program policies, here are some that you should know about:

Copyright policy – your website has to be %100 original content (over 250 words per article), meaning no copy and paste whatsoever, if they see any content un-original your request for Google Adsense will be declined and if you already have a google adsense account, your account will be terminated completely.

Age limit – you must be at least 18 years old to be a Publisher for Google Adsense.

The Blog/site itself – Google Adsense is not for Pornography websites or sites that interacts in any way with illegal Items or drugs, they also have a list of sites they disapprove of which you should check out.

Get a Personal Domain – If your blog or site is under Blogspot.com or wordpress.com then you will really struggle to get an acceptance from google because they get hundreds of applicants daily, so your blog has to be something extraordinary to stand out, or you can get a domain and a host provider so instead of your site being mustknowbefore.wordpress.com it would be mustknowbefore.com

Your website design – although it doesn’t matter as much but if you have a terrible website design with a dark heavy colored background and text is all over the place, chances are your request will get declined, so have something neat and professional because design is the 2nd thing they will automatically review after content.

Lack on communication – if your request gets declined for approval you will not be able to get in touch with a person from google for inquiries, instead you will get an email stating what could be the cause, sometimes you would have to go through the entire policy to find out what is the requirements that you failed meet.

Termination policy – “Google may at any time terminate the Agreement, or suspend or terminate the participation of any Property in the Services for any reason.” meaning you have to be really careful not to breach any policy, keeping in mind that if your account gets terminated, it also states “If we terminate the Agreement due to your breach or due to invalid activity, we may withhold unpaid amounts or charge back your account.” so becareful not to try anything funny.

Website age – not all countries are entitled to this but some countries like China or India and few other countries sites aren’t accepted as you have to wait 6 months at least for your site to get approval for the use of Google Adsense.

Creating an accounts – in both Google Webmasters tools and Google Analytics as it is essential to be accepted in Google Adsense, of course you must link the site to both accounts!
